Vitamin E

TOCOPHEROL ACETATE

Protects from oxidative stress

A naturally-occurring, fat-soluble antioxidant, Vitamin E acts as a free radical scavenger and helps protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals encountered through exposure to UV light or pollution.

It has been shown in studies to have a moderate photoprotective role, reducing UV-induced skin damage by reducing lipid peroxidation, limiting DNA damage, and reducing the many chemical and structural changes to skin after UV exposure.

Vitamin E his also considered an anti-inflammatory agent in the skin, as several studies have supported its prevention of inflammatory damage after UV exposure.

Theorized benefits around hastened wound healing and reduction of wrinkles have not yet been borne out by controlled trials.
