Known as Silicone elastomers, this were first developed in Japan for personal care use. The original material was an elastomer powder with an unique dry, smooth, silky and powdery feel.

When used in creams they help them spread easily whilst leaving a distinctive silky, smooth film on the skin. They help reduce the appearance of fine lines and provides a matte appearance.
